7 and 8 print to both MX5001N printers, XP just to one

Weird issue since installing new print server.  I have 2 Sharp MX5001N MFPs on the network.  One is called Main1 and the other Main2.  GPO installs both of these printers for all users.  Windows 7 and 8 machines can print to both without any issue.  Windows XP machines, however, can only print to Main2.  Attempting to print to Main1, or even access Properties of that printer, cause the machine to lock.  Since both printers use the same driver, I don't think it's a driver issue, at least not in the usual sense.  It seems more like accessing the second printer causes the XP machines to attempt to open a 2nd instance of the print spooler or something.  Any ideas are appreciated.  (And yes, I've asked for funding to replace all the XP machines.  Need a solution for the interim.)
