Last week about all the printers on out network started
printing 3 lines of random symbols on a page, then constantly reprinting the
same thing till it was either turned off or ran out of paper (canceling the job
did not stop it. We would have to turn the printer off completely to get it to
stop.)
We updated the HP universal print driver on our print
server, but that didn’t fix the issue.
The temporary solution we found was that if we made all the
printers use the driver’s specific they could print, but it was incredibly
slow. I had to wait almost 3 minutes for the printer to actually print a job I sent
to it.
We restarted all our servers, had all the networking
equipment at the offices restarted, updated the firmware of all the printers we
could get to.
Some of the printers work now, but they are incredibly slow.
