We have a Toshiba e-Studio 2330c MFP on our network. It is under a service contract through a local dealer, but they've been unable to resolve an issue we have with it. It is less than one year from the end of lease, so I suspect they just want us to buy something new.
The MFP has options under "Energy Save" as follows:
Auto Clear
Auto Power Save
Sleep/Auto Shut Off
Auto clear clears the display as expected. Auto power save goes into a quiet state as expected.
However, the "Sleep/Auto Shut Off" function does not put the device into sleep or turn it off. Instead, it repeatedly takes the device out of power save and then puts it back into power save. The cycle goes until we bring the device out of "power save" by printing or pushing a button. Each cycle lasts 25 seconds. The process is as loud as the machine's initial warm-up so it is loud...
