We currently have 9Ricoh Aficio 4001 MP units. Each of those printers is at the receptionist desk at one of our remote clinics. (9 clinics, each with its own printer).
Our contract is due to expire for those units soon, and I have been tasked with finding a replacement unit for them. The requirements that I have been provided with are:
- Non-Contracted - For some reason, the powers that be (who have no idea about anything IT related) would rather not pay a monthly contract fee for support/usage of printers.
- Must be a multi-functional device supporting these features: Printer, Fax, Scanner (must be able to scan to e-mail using a programmable address book)
- Remote access/configuration (requirement of mine)
- Must not be a cheap printer that would be used in someones home. It needs to be reliable and able to handle 2000-5000 pages per month...
