Printer Drivers Help.

Goodness I hate dealing with printers!
Hey Spiceheads, so we have some Hp LaserJet 4000 series printers in our environment. We recently switched over from server 2008R2 to server 2012 and I am having trouble finding the correct drivers for these printers. When I am first installing the printers it auto defaults to the Hp LaserJet 4250 driver, but when I print a test page I get a "PCL XL error". I did some research and it is in fact a bad driver. I went to the Hp website to get the right driver but it is an old printer and does not have support for server 2012 or windows 8.1. The driver is not in the widows list of drivers. The closest one is Hp LaserJet 4100 series, but that does not work either. Anyone have any clue as to what I could do? Am I just going to have to replace the printers?
