HP Color LaserJet 3600 Operation failed with error 0x0000007e error Windows 7

Hello,

I have a few people on Windows 7 pro x64 and when trying to connect to our HP Color LaserJet 3600 hosted on a Windows Server 2003 x32 server I get the error Operation failed with error 0x0000007e. I've tried many things.

I installed the HP_CLJ3600_64bit_HB drivers on the server.

I tried adding the printer as a local printer using a tcp/ip port and manually pointing to the above driver.

I tried adding the printer as local using a Local Port and the HP driver

I tried this command: net use LPT2 \\server\printer /persistent:yes

I tried a hotfix from Microsoft 412895_intl_x64_zip.exe which said my system did not apply though it looks like it should.

Nothing has worked. Any ideas?
