Konica Minolta c454 defaulting to 2-sided on Server 2003 Terminal Services.

I have a Konica Minolta Bizhub c454 copier. The printer is installed direct to IP on a Windows Xerver 2008r2 server. My users are logging into a Windows Server 2003r2 server using terminal services/remote desktop to access our accounting software. When they log in they are mapping the c454 copier using Group Policy Preferences. It seems that the first person in the morning to log into that server gets 2-Sided printing default. Once the setting is placed back to 1-Sided the printer works that way all day. The problem doesn't occur for users that map the printer through GPP on a local machine.

  1. I've checked the default printer settings from both servers and it is set to 1-Sided.
  2. I've completely removed the printer and drivers on the print server and on the accounting server, then reinstalled.
  3. I've updated the driver to the latest version 3.1.1.0 for both x64 and x86.

I heard somewhere that Konica-Minolta made a political deal to default their printers to 2-sided in order to save trees. I'm not sure if this is the problem or if it's even true, but it's kind of a pain in the butt for customers.

Anyone have any ideas?
