We have an HP Color LaserJet CP2025 printer attached via USB to a windows XP machine. The printer is not connected to the network because there is no ethernet cable available to it (we'd have to buy a switch or something to be able to get a cable to it)
Most of the people in this room have XP machines, and are able to connect to that printer via the PC it's attached to. However, Windows 7 simply does NOT like to do this for some reason. On a Win7 PC I can browse to that PC and see that the printer is shared, but when I attempt to connect to it it fails, and Windows Update can't find a driver. So I go to the manufacturers website and they don't supply drivers to this printer for win 7. It's supposedly already in the windows printer drivers that come with the OS. Yet somehow it will either not connect to the printer or not find the...
