Hey everybody. So I've gotten the directive to set up a new inbound fax line for one of our business units. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a stand-alone fax appliance that we could use for receipt of faxes, with them being sent to an Exchange mailbox, probably via SMTP. Inbound only is really my prime objective here. Outbound is nice, but would be something we'd set up later.
We're looking for an appliance because I don't really have a server that I could add the fax services & modem onto. I suppose I could use one of our existing MFPs, but I'd like to get this device into the server room where it can't be fiddled with. Also, "cloud" based solutions are a non-starter as we have HIPAA requirements to follow.
I'd like to do this on the cheap, so used equipment sourced from eBay would be fine. On a lark I picked up a used Castelle...
