We have three XEROX WorkCentre 75xx series devices in our environment. For several months we have been experiencing long delays between the time a document is scanned ata machine and when it arrives, via our local Exchange 2010 server, in the user mailbox.
This most often happens on the machine users do the most scanning on in the office.
We have done packet captures between the device and the Exchange server and it appears the delay is on the Xerox device as there is no SMTP conversation until just before the document is sent to Exchange.Once this happens, the document arrives in the destination mailbox. In the interim, on the device, the scan job shows a "processing" status.
We have also experimented by connecting the device to different switches, using different cable paths to the switch, and even rebooting Exchange mid-day to see if...
