I support a computer offsite at an affiliate company. It's on a VPN and RDPs to a VM that accesses our Point of Sale system. They need to be able to print invoices locally from this remote machine, so I had printer sharing enabled in the RDP profile and attempted to add the redirected printer as the default for the PoS software. Unfortunately, every time a new connection is made, the redirected printer keeps changing its name (IE "Printer (redirected 1)", "Printer (redirected 2)", etc). When this name changes, the PoS software still points to the old printer, and invoices don't get printed.
I've been banging my head against the wall on this for a while now and can't seem to come up with a solution. I need to find a way to get the redirected printers to stop appending (redirected #) or create some way to have a printer local to the VM...
