Here's something odd.
An executive manager at my company can't print PDF files with Adobe Reader to any printer other than his assistant's shared network printer in the room next to him.
He's using Windows 7 Pro with all the latest updates and no malware or spyware. In Control Panel >> Devices and Printers he has six or seven copiers listed (local TCP/IP ports). They are using the latest PCL6 drivers from Xerox's official website. Any document, when opened in any Office Suite program, will print with no problem. I'm also able to print out a test page if I wanted to.
When we go to open a PDF with Adobe Reader, the only printer that is available is his assistant's shared network printer. The printer share's permissions tab allows him access to this. It will print just fine to that particular printer. It just doesn't recognize any other...
