Printing from DOS to network printer ignores driver settings

Hi all. 

We have some old dBase applications running here. 
They run in DOS box using batch files. 

For printing I mapped a network shared printer to LPT1: 

Worked file until we changed the printer (multifunctional, that is). 

Now we are loosing some characters on the right edge of the paper. 
I changed the printer settings (on the server) to manual scaling. 
For testing purposes I set it to 65%, the Windows test page is indeed a lot smaller 

The dBase output however... no change whatsoever

It looks like the DOS box doesn't care about the Windows driver settings. 

Anyone 's got an idea on how to solve this??? 

P.S. changing the dBase program is NOT an option.
