I'm looking for a printer recommendation for a rubber manufacturing environment, which is hot, dusty, and not tech-friendly.
Many moons ago, we used Laserjet 6Ls, which worked like horses and ended up getting retired due to them being too slow. For the past couple of years, we've gone with LaserJet Pro P1606dn printers, which just don't seem up to the task (they die after 6 months to 1.5 years after deployment).
Requirements:
Able to print on smallish media (3.5"x8.5"). Most of the media is this size.
Easy-access manual feed and automatic feed trays. We liked the P1606dn printers because both trays were in open-air, so the users only had to slide the paper in instead of opening a door/sliding a drawer each time. Every print job is printer on different color stock, so this is a huge requirement.
Networkable.
Desktop-sized is highly preferred
