Ran into an issue today with our new Lexmark MS310d printers. The printer is suppose to work with the standard LEXOPTRA / LEXOPTRAT driver, but it does not. The printer will print overlapping characters all over the page. To correct this issue, the printer should use the IBM3812 print driver. The issue is caused from the printer not handling the PCL driver, as it should. The printer is instead using the PPDS Emulation, which is why the IBM3812 driver is working. I am going to attempt to file a ticket with Lexmark, but hopefully this work around will save someone 5 hours of troubleshooting......
