Hey All,
I am having an issue with 3 HP Printers in one of my remote locations. My HP Printers in a second remote location are working without issue. Here is whats going on.
I just installed a new virtual print server on a win 7 x64 box. All printers in all locations are working properly with the exception of the 3 I mentioned previously. When I come in first thing in the morning I pull up my print server and see these 3 printers are offline. I cannot ping or tracert them from my remote location.
If I rdp into that remote locations site and then ping the printers i can ping them just fine and print test pages. Now after I ping them they now show online and I can ping them from the original location.
I have already disabled power saving mode hoping this was the issue but it did not correct the problem. I have some other HP printers in a 3rd location that work fine and use the same exact driver as the ones that are showing offline.
We have checked our firewall and do not see anything blocking pings, as we can also ping any other non hp printer in that location.
Does anyone have any suggestions
