HP Officejet 8600 printers won't stay connected to the wireless when passworded.

We have several HP Officejet 8600 wireless printers that will stay connected to the network just fine when the wireless is not password protected. When I password protect the wireless, the printers will eventually disconnect from the connect. These printers are not connected to a print server. Any ideas?
