One of my techs had a ticket assigned to them for a HP-P3005 printer which was not working correctly. After diagnosing the issue with the end user he found a fix on the HP website and notified the user how to correct it, Bake the formatter board in the oven at 350F for 8 minutes and let it cool for about a half hour. Needless to say the user did this and updated the ticket with "the board came out a little crispy, but the printer actually works!".
So my question to everyone is, what is the strangest fix you have done to get something working in the IT world?
