Hi all,
My office currently has a Konica Minolta Bizhub C450 that is very near it's end of life. Most of the imaging units, belts, rollers, etc. would need replacement in the next month and I feel like it's time to replace this beast instead of repairing it. I've looked around at various replacement options on the usual sites but - I thought that I might have better luck asking for some recommendations here.
I NEED something with:
- Color Laser for ~20 users, half of which print max once per week, the other half were lumberjacks in their previous lives.
- Scanner/Copier functions with ADF and "email PDF scanning"
- Ethernet
I would LIKE something with, you can tell me if I'm crazy, I can handle it:
- Ability to audit how much users print, (possibly with a quota, department level might be nice too)
- Ability to limit certain users to monochrome
- Duplex that can be forced on certain users (or even just everyone), so I don't have to see a signature from outlook waste an entire page
- Something that could prevent users from hitting the print button but never actually going to the printer to retrieve the print. This happens ALL the the time. They click print and later someone else collects it out of the printer and sticks it on/in a random table, cubicle, or trash can. I considered something with enforced SecurePrint where they have to type a PIN to retrieve the print, but couldn't find anything where this was the default. Ideally (this is probably a dream!) it would delete uncollected prints after a certain time frame.
I have a budget that is flexible depending on the options... around 500-600 for just the basic MFP, around 1000-1200 if it has the bells and whistles.
