Hi all,
I'm trying to setup a Fujitsu fi-6110 scanner on a new install of Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) desktop. I've come to a point where I could use some advice on how to continue troubleshooting. When I install the scanner software and driver off the disk, everything seems to go fine. However, after the installation is over, and I reboot the computer and initiate a scan, the scanner pulls the paper through and then abruptly cancels the scan, saying something along the lines of "the cancel scan button was pressed". I tried installing the driver online, but that only installed the "WIA" driver, and it freezes at the "transfering" or "sending" phase (depending on which program you're using to initiate a scan). Previously, I tried to setup a Fujitsu fi-4120 on this same desktop. It failed to work as well, but it does not have any driver that officially supports Windows 7. It also has known issues with 64-bit systems. I was able to get the fi-4120 working on another Windows 7 pro x64 desktop. The fi-6110 installed very easily on every other computer in the office. However, those desktops have very different hardware from the one I'm trying to work with right now. Here's what I'm debating:
When I installed the Fujitsu fi-4120, is it possible that it put in a driver or dll that is corrupted or incompatible with this desktop that the fi-6110 is now trying to use?
Or is the PC itself (perhaps the USB port?) having some sort of problem? There's a USB printer that's working just fine.
How would you go forward with the diagnosis?
