We have a strange issue with our fax machine and our network.
If we plug the fax machine directly into the phone line, it works - sends and receives fine.
But when we connect it to the network socket in the mail room, it will not work!
We've plugged an analogue phone into the port to test the wiring, and that works perfectly.
But the bleeding Fax will not make any transmissions unless we plug it directly into the phone line.
Some more info: there is about 30metres worth of ethernet cable between the mail room and the phone line. The socket in the mail room goes through to a patch panel, and from the patch panel into the phone line. Please see pics, this might help.
