We have a ton of Zebra thermal printers for printing packaging labels. Some of the labels are really big. The main one we're having issues with is almost 60mb.
We're a Lenovo shop, and use all in one machines for these print jobs. The ThinkCentre M71z takes almost 6 minutes to print. We have a few M92z machines which miraculously print in about 45 seconds (the same label).
We went to buy more M92z to replace all the M71z. Lenovo is now on the M93z, so we bought 5, put the i7-4770s and 16gb ram. They take just as long as the M71z.
However, on a Thinkpad T440p with an i5-4200M 8gb ram, it takes only about 1' 45" max.
We've narrowed it down to be the computer, more or less. The label exists on a share drive and is then copied locally to the C drive (by Nicelabel) encoded, and then sent to the printer. It seems that the first two steps,...
