We've got a couple of Tally T2248 printers which are connected via NetGear PS101v2 parallel port print servers. Firmware and drivers used are identical on both printers.
The print queues used to be on a Windows 2003 Standard x86 box, which worked reliably, but we've moved them to a 2012 R2 server, so that we can decommission the old 2003 box.
Most print jobs go through okay on the new 2012 R2 server. Yet others will stop printing part way through and the job will change to "Printer busy or error". The same job can be printed several times in a row and some jobs will complete and others error.
We've tested all sorts:
- Two printers
- Two print servers
- Uninstalled Anti Virus (VIPRE)
- Swapped Ethernet cables
- Changed options on the driver/print queue
1. Moved rendering of print jobs to server
2. Changed driver isolation from system default (none) to...
