We have a department whose software is being changed. The software change is mandated by the state so we have no control of this. We have been told they will need desktop scanners that support TWAIN. Also, for the few users that need a local printer, the software usually recognizes HP printers but other brands are hit and miss. Their recommended printer is a HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n, so we looked at the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn MFP to take care of the printer and scanner together. But according to spiceheadRockermann, this MFP doesn't have a compression feature on the scanning which we expect to need.
Our department is one of the first to switch to this new software, so there are a lot of things that are "optional" right now, so we (IT) do not have all the info we need to make the best decisions.
