My office has an HP LaserJet 500 color M551 and it seems that most if not all users that print to it can hardly ever finish their print jobs. They are on Windows 8.1 x64 and are having this trouble with a variety of source material (PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, Word docs, etc). Most of the users have the HP PCL6 drivers installed. So, I thought to myself, "Let's try a different driver".
I have since tried the post-script driver and the HP universal print driver (PCL 5) for this model. The new drivers seem capable at printing complete documents, BUT each page takes 15-20 seconds each.
This got me wondering if there was something wrong with the printer, but I was able to take one of the documents a user was having these issues with and print it from my Mac (OS X Yosemite) fast and without fail. It seems like this is a software issue,...
