I have a computer on the network that is receiving a message that the driver is not installed. It is running XP Professional, and other computers like it (same model number and OS) can use this printer. It used to work, but there hasn't been an event that landmarked this lack of printivity.
- The printer is hosted on a server. The way it SHOULD work, is that I can \\ to the server, connect to the printer, the driver installs automatically, et voila!
- I can ping the printer from the PC
- The PC is DHCP, but so are all the other ones and it's on the same subnet as the PCs that can print to the printer
- The PC is on the domain and in the right/only group it needs to be, and set up the same as the other PCs
- The PC has been restored from an image obtained when it was able to print and it was unable
I also tried downloading the print drivers from the website but I was getting a firewall error and an error that it couldn't find any network printers.
